The Renditions are a high-energy four-piece band formed in 2026 and based in Mystic, CT, specializing in early Rock & Roll, Rockabilly, and Standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The band and its concept were born from a series of open mic shows in which Chris was the house band guitarist, and Rich performed a few rockabilly tunes. Rich suggested to Chris that they start a band with that same vibe, and Chris signed on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Rich had recently reconnected with Carl, a drummer with whom Rich had played in a band back in the 1980s, and when Rich asked Carl to be a part of this project, Carl immediately agreed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through a series of mutual connections, Chris put Rich in touch with David, and David and his bass jumped on board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rich Garmon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally from St. Louis, MO, Rich Garmon has been living in Connecticut for over 50 years, and in Mystic since 2015. Rich has been playing guitar and piano and singing since his days in St. Louis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 1980s, he played keyboards for The Modern Look, a Hartford-based new wave band. Rich then fronted The Figs (with Carl as the drummer), a rock & roll cover band that played throughout central Connecticut and New London county for several years. After a long musical hiatus and a 40+ year career as a software engineer, Rich has returned to his passion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Chris Daniels<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris grew up around Mystic and has played guitar since his teenage years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Musical endeavors in the 1980s included playing with Sugar Ray and the Bluetones up and down the East Coast as well as an extended tour in Spain. In the 1990s, he was the guitarist for The Rhythm Kings, a 5-piece blues band.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris was also the guitarist and band leader for over 20 years with Rock and Soul Revue, a 9-piece R&B dance band, covering Motown hits, soul, classic rock, Latin and disco. Recently, he has played with the Greg Sherrod Band all across southeastern New England, from New Haven to Providence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Carl Wenk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carl Wenk is a mathematician and classically trained percussionist. Originally from Groton, CT, Carl spent many years living, working and performing out west before recently moving back east to Stonington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a first chair rudimental and concert snare drummer, tympanist and on-call drummer, Carl has performed in a multitude of musical genres including symphonic, concert, jazz, rock, drum corps, big band, rhythm and blues, show, swing, country and crossovers. Related to the music of The Renditions, some of the groups Carl performed with in his earlier time in Connecticut include Jimmy and the Four Counts, The Figs (with Rich), Beat Brothers, Sherman and the Waybacks, and Cool Guys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to drumming Carl also focusses on classical marimba.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

David Clark<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

David Clark is a Mystic-based musician and bassist for The Renditions. Originally from Dover, DE, David has been playing the saxophone and bass since he was a teenager. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He enjoys playing everything from jazz to folk to funk, and in addition to The Renditions he performs with other local groups such as Coydogs, Dapper Rabbit, The Teddy J. Clark Trio, and Tomcat Bob and the Gigglemugs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When he is not aggravating his neighbors with marathon jam sessions he spends his time cycling and crunching numbers for Uncle Sam as a Senior Data Scientist for Leidos, Inc.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
